Our approach is founded on supporting independence - looking at what makes a difference to each individual we work with. To help people gain and maintain their independence, we recognise that it is our customers needs, expectations and aspirations that are of prime importance.

Working effectively with homeless people is vital if they are to become part of a successful local community. However, simply meeting their needs in isolation can often cause as many problems as it solves, especially in urban areas that are full of contrasts. A more cohesive approach is needed, one that helps everyone connect with the wider community.
Our work with women at risk of domestic violence
We provide a range of projects around the country which deliver housing and support services to this vulnerable client group. Safety and security are of paramount importance for obvious reasons and such considerations are built into all our schemes from design through to operation. Also central to our approach is the provision of a supported living space which is homely and private. We try to deliver self-contained, fully equipped and furnished accommodation where possible - in recognition of the fact that many women fleeing domestic violence aren't able to take furniture or belongings with them when they leave their home. Underpinning everything we do is the aim of helping our clients to lead as normal, settled and safe a life as possible.
Our work with teenage parents
Being a teenage parent is difficult in the best of circumstances but when you are alone and homeless it can be unbearable. We provide accommodation and support to teenage parents and their babies, together with structured support services such as parenting and life skills, including cooking, budgeting and managing money. We also provide help with education, training and career guidance.
Our work with refugees
We work with refugees to help them resettle and learn how to manage a home of their own. Project Workers provide support, information, advocacy and interpretation and translation services on a range of issues and help customers to make links and integrate with their new community.
Our work with people who have physical or sensory disabilities
Our support services aim to enable customers to maintain a tenancy in the community, maximize their independence and help them to take as much responsibility for their own life as possible. Staff provide support, advice and guidance in all areas of life with particular focus upon maximizing benefits, accessing the community and developing a persons full potential.
