What do I do if I have a problem with my neighbour?
If a case does not involve threats, violence or serious harassment, we would suggest that you discuss the problem with the other person. If you do not want to approach the other person, we may be able to get a mediation service to help. If you have tried speaking to the other person and there has been no improvement please contact your Neighbourhood Officer at your local housing office. He or she will log your complaint and speak to you about it.
What should I do if I feel that my safety is at risk?
lf somebody has used or threatened to use violence against you, you should contact the police immediately. You should also contact your Neighbourhood Officer who will investigate your complaint and consider what should be done next.
What action can Places for People take to resolve neighbour problems?
Places for People has a number of legal and none legal remedies to resolve neighbour problems. These are outlined in the leaflet entitled 'Anti-Social Behaviour, Let's Tackle it Together'
What do I do if I am being racially harassed or I have witnessed another person being racially harassed?
Please contact us immediately, our staff are trained to deal with your call and we will respond in 24 hours. If this happens over a weekend or bank holiday, our contact centre will give practical advice and report the incident to the local housing office for immediate action the next working day. Please see our booklet entitled 'Harassment - How We Can Help' for further advice/information.
